5 tips to stay warm in winter!

Hello beautiful,


You too can’t stand the insane cold outside? Even though it is December already and Christmas is literally behind the corner, I still can’t get used to all these thick layers of clothes I need to wrap up into to stay warm. That’s why I decided to do a little research and list down ways how to stay warm and cosy (and don’t look like a snowman).

1. Ginger is the essential

Not only can it warm your body up, it is healing as well. One way is to make normal tea, just grate a little piece of ginger and pour some hot water over it. But here’s another tip, even more effective. Take a medium sized piece of ginger and put it in a pot with 2 litres of water. If you prefer, you can add half a pear or an apple. Put it on the stove and let it cook on low heat for about two hours. For best results, drink this ginger-infused water as hot and as often as possible. Ideal prevention against cold and snuffles!

2) Never underestimate cinnamon

I know the perfect combination of cinnamon is in hot wine on Christmas markets, but you can do it alcohol-free too! Replace wine with apple juice or pear juice, add a piece of cinnamon, a few slices of orange and lemon and three cloves. Cinnamon is naturally amazing for baking and has health benefits as well. Besides speeding up the metabolism it also decreases blood clotting so it is a perfect prevention against heart attack or stroke.

3) Feet and head covered

Do you remember your mum reminding you every winter morning to wear your hat? She was right. The human body loses most of its heat from the top and the bottom - our head and our feet. So get yourself a nice soft cap, forget sneakers and but on some quality winter boots. Make it fun - my MARK Knee High Socks or MARK Unisex Socks, they are my favorite! 

4) Swedish layering

Get inspired by the Swedish babes, they know very well how to fight some awfully cold weather and stay stylish at the same time. Here’s the trick: they wear multiple thin, carefully picked layers. Two normal sweaters are not enough, cashmere or wool are preferred. Underneath the elegant wool coat they wear a thin feather jacket. Wherever they go, they take off the wool coat together with the feather jacket so no one knows their little secret.

5. Treat yourself to a hot bath

Nothing feels better after a cold day outside than a hot bath followed by cuddling up in a blanket and having yourself a cosy evening. Lay in the warm water for at least 10 to 15 minutes to warm your body up thoroughly. Not fun enough? Take it to the next level! Long winter evenings are perfect for relaxing ad pampering yourself.
