there will probably be a lot of foreign words in today’s blog post, but all of them connected to one - neem. Does it ring a bell? Of course! The powder from leaves from the Neem tree, often known by its Latin name Azadirachta indica, is one of the key ingredients in my brand new MARK Green tea face mask.
I bet you already know that all my scrubs are home-made in Slovakia, which is where I come from. But since I am a big traveller, I decided to get inspired and flew all around the globe for some ingredients for my green tea face mask. For the neem leaf powder to India, to be specific. You can find it in almost every garden in India, it is that popular. I’m very picky when it comes to ingredients, but I swear this journey was totally worth it. So what is so interesting about it?
Neem has been celebrated for its healing properties for thousands of years now and not only on the Indian subcontinent. Hardly could we find a health issue this miraculous plant couldn’t deal with. This is thanks to its antibacterial, antimycotic and anti-inflammatory abilities. It is used in various forms, as oil extracted from the leaves, infused in hot water for tea, or even in toothpastes. Just a little side note - if you come across a form of neem that is meant for eating and consumption, consult with your doctor, I am no expert in that. As you might guess, from all the forms of neem, it’s the powder for external use that I fell in love with. 😊
Because neem has become a holy grail in its region of origin, I decided to list down several points summing up its magical properties.
If you have sensitive eyes, you may find that they will be watering while using my green tea face mask. If this is your case, don’t panic! It is a natural reaction actually caused by the neem powder. The solution is easy - right after applying the mask, cover your eyes with cucumber slices or a little face towel. This way your eyes are protected and MARK Green tea face mask is free to do its job. Your face will appreciate it!
I believe you will give this Indian miracle a try. Don’t forget to write me your impressions and thought! 😊
Yours faithfully,
MARK.
